Oneself and Others

If a person cares for others' happiness when oneself is suffering, some people advise, "You should care for your own happiness than that of others." Is this true? The correct answer is that we should care for others' happiness even more in such a case. Because, if we care only for our happiness, our consciousness becomes inward, our mind becomes self-centered and narrower, our self-confidence will be lost, our heart will be closed, our trust will be lost, fear will arise, loneliness and insecurity and anxiety will arise, so our attempt will be the tail wagging the dog. If we care for others's happiness, the exact opposite things will occur and everything will be guided in the direction of the positive.
